I have looked at a particular piece of work from Rene' Magritte, a Belgian surrealist artist. It is simple to the human eye but is clever once you think about it in a little more depth. Here is the image:
At first glance, this photo is nothing more than a painted object (Pipe) with fancy text below in French. The text translates to "This is not a pipe". The reason why he said this was because he claims that this is a painting and only a representation of a pipe, not a real pipe.
